Jews in prison are cut off from their people. Most have no Jewish education and had no connection with Judaism before their incarceration. Most come from broken families or their families have forsaken them. By contacting Jewish Prisoner Services and requesting a Jewish pen pal they are reaching out for a Jewish connection.
A Jewish pen pal can establish a Jewish connection in their lives; maybe light that Jewish spark that resides within them. You can be their link, their only link.
To protect both prisoners and volunteers from missionaries and other predators Jewish Prisoner Services International has strict policies.
If you want to be a pen pal to a Jewish prisoner please complete the application. Contact me via the email address posted on this website if you have any questions.
Please state on your application if you would be willing to correspond with an inmate in another country and what languages you can correspond in.
Thank you for your interest in the Pen Pal Program.
